Former Kathiani MP, Wavinya Ndeti, has said that there will be no nominations for Wiper Party in Machakos county ahead of the August general polls.

Ndeti, who spoke at St Jude Catholic Church in Athi River town on Friday, said that Wiper Party gave her a direct ticket to contest for the governorship, adding that she is the best candidate to unseat the incumbent Dr. Alfred Mutua in the forthcoming general polls.

“I am now running for Machakos governor on a Wiper ticket and I am the gubernatorial candidate for Wiper party in Machakos," Ndeti said, as quoted by Star.

Wavinya Ndeti’s move to Wiper changed the political situation of this area. The legislator will be banking on the support of Wiper Party Leader Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka to clinch the seat.

Addressing Wiper Supporters during a meeting where she announced her move to Wiper, Wavinya Ndeti said that she had made an informed decision, adding that the Kamba community is ready to unite to enable Kalonzo rise to power.

Several leaders from Ukambani including Former Lands Minister Charity Ngilu, Makueni Governor Kivutha Kibwana and Senator Mutula Kilonzo Junior have vowed to work together to push a Kalonzo presidency.
