Former Kathiani MP Wavinya Ndeti has maintained she won the Machakos gubernatorial seat on August 8, 2017 elections.
Ndeti said the fact remains that she won but was not declared winner by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC).
The Wiper party candidate said she will pursue her election petition appeal but if it fails, she will wait and contest for the same seat in 2022 polls.
Ndeti spoke at a funeral service in Mwala, Machakos County on Thursday.
"Thanks for your votes. I know you voted for me and I promise you I will be governor. Even if my appeal doesn't push through, I will still vie in 2022," Ndeti said.
She claimed justice wasn't served in Machakos High Court in February referring to her unsuccessful election petition case in which the court upheld Governor Alfred Mutua's August 8, 2017 victory.
Ndeti was flanked by Mwala CCU party secretary Raphael Kyalaani.
