Chama Cha Uzalendo leader Wavinya Ndeti has supported ODM party leader Raila Odinga's bid to conduct the August polls electronically.
She said the manual voting system can lead to disputes that may trigger off clashes as witnessed in 2007.
She was speaking during the burial of businessman Stephen Muthoka at Mavoko on Wednesday.
"Through the electronic system of voting, the playing ground will be fair and if someone is defeated, they will see this clearly and go home contented," she said.
She cited other African countries which, have used the mode and succeeded.
"Ghana, South Africa and other African countries have used technology in their elections, we can also do it," the former Kathiani MP added.
She however, noted that there should be a back-up system to forestall technological breakdowns.
Mr Odinga has consistently rooted for the use of technology during the August general elections.
He claims the manual system of voter identification and results transmission can easily be manipulated.
The Jubilee administration is however, against the move.
Jubilee claims not all parts of the country are powered to support an electronic polling exercise.
The Senate will on January debate the passage of proposed amendments to the Elections Act, 2011 to allow the use of the manual system during voting.
