Former Kathiani MP Wavinya Ndeti has urged the clergy to get involved in politics.
Ms Ndeti was speaking during a burial at Kyawango in Mwala sub county on Monday.
She said church leaders play a vital role in society and through helping and teaching local county residents they can choose leaders wisely avoiding intimidation and bribery cases.
"Clergies and other church leaders play a very important role in our society and if they involve themselves in politics, people will not accept to be intimidated nor taking in bribes to elect leaders who seek for different posts just for their own gains," said Ndeti.
Ndeti urged Machakos county people to gauge one through all promises he or she gave and the ones complete before voting come 2017 before electing them in various positions.
She thanked Mwala residents for welcoming and allowing her to take her sincere condolences to family of bereaved.
