Machakos gubernatorial aspirant on a Jubilee ticket Wavinya Ndeti has come out advice the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission.
Speaking after the High Court allowed her to for vie on a Wiper ticket, Wavinya called on the electoral body to ensure it conducts free and fair elections.
She called on the Wafula Chebukati led commission to conduct the polls in a free manner and avoid being swayed by external factors.
“IEBC need to be fair, if they could have consulted the Registrar of Political Parties, we could not have reached here (in court). Today it has been seen that Kenya is bigger than Wafula Chebukati and IEBC. All this conflict is now in the past and I have forgiven IEBC, and I urge them to conduct free and fair elections in August. I want to thank people of Machakos for standing strong with me,” said Wavinya.
Wavinya was allowed to vie after a voter moved to court claiming that she did not resign from her CCU party before being declared a Wiper candidate.
Her victory was short lived after another voter appealed the ruling.
