Ndeti said Sonko must stand his ground and put off people who want to interfere with his leadership.

In an interview with a local daily on Wednesday, Ndeti said Sonko must be left to independently address the issues facing Nairobi residents.

The Wiper politician said it is too early to castigate Sonko on his development performance.

"I am urging Governor Mike Sonko to be firm and not to fall to political intimidators who are out to frustrate his leadership," Ndeti said.

Ndeti asked Nairobians to give their governor chance and time to deliver.

She said Sonko has the potential to deliver but political detractor's are giving him nightmares.

Ndeti at the same time defended Sonko's decision to nominate controversial lawyer Miguna Miguna as his deputy.

She said the governor has every constitutional right to nominate Miguna.

Ndeti said Miguna is fit as Sonko's deputy noting that the pair can deliver on issues facing Nairobians.

Sonko has been under sharp criticism after he nominated Miguna as his deputy last week.

He nominated Miguna and forwarded his name to Speaker of the Nairobi county assembly, Beatrice Elachi for vetting.

A section of Jubilee politicians have vowed to block Miguna from being approved to deputize Sonko.

On Wednesday, a voter moved to court seeking orders to restrain the Nairobi county assembly from vetting Miguna on grounds he did not qualify to be nominated.
