Former Machakos gubernatorial aspirant Wavinya Ndeti has expressed confidence that Machakos residents will elect her after the Court of Appeal nullified Governor Alfred Mutua's re-election last Friday.
Ndeti on Sunday said Mutua's re-election nullification signifies that county chief won the August 8 election irregularly as she had argued in court.
She said God is on her side and it is time her political opponents accept that she is the people's choice for the Machakos gubernatorial seat.
"No weapon formed against you will succeed, and you will refute any accusation raised against you in court," Ndeti posted on her Facebook page as she wished her supporters the best of luck.
"This is the heritage of the Lord ’s servants, and their vindication is from me. This is the Lord’s declaration."
The former Kathiani MP successfully appealed against the decision by the Machakos High Court that earlier upheld Mutua's re-election.
The Appeal Court Judges on Friday agreed with Ndeti's argument that election results as declared by the IEBC during the August 8 polls did not pass the Constitutional test and could not be verified.
