Former Kathiani MP Wavinya Ndeti is a darling of many Machakos people and Kenyans when it comes to politics.

The Wiper party politician often closely interacts with her supporters.

During campaigns for last years (2017) general election, Ndeti was trending not only because she was contesting for the Machakos governor seat but because of the famous phrase ‘Yaliyo Ndwele Si bite’.

Ndeti made the phrase after the High court dismissed IEBC decision to lock  her out of the Machakos Governor race (2017) on grounds that she was a member of two parties.

Ndeti said that 'Yaliyo Ndwele Sipite' (Yaliyopita  Si Ndwele, tugange yajayo- correct translation).

The former MP's phrase earned her fame as he campaigned to dislodge Governor Alfred Mutua from power.

The Wavinya Ndeti challenge made Kenyans creative with social media users taking the challenge to twist other similar ‘methalis’ (proverbs).

The hilarious phrase also so little known singer, MC Njaggy took composed a song titled ‘Yaliyo Ndwele sipite’.

The singer created an anthem that was even played during Ndeti’s political campaigns. However, the former MP lost her bid to send governor Mutua home as the Maendeleo chap chap party easily won re-election.

Ndeti says that she has not given up on politics and will contest for the Machakos top seat in 202 elections.
