Former Machakos gubernatorial candidate Wavinya Ndeti expressed her joy after government switched KTN News and NTV back on air on Monday, February 5, 2018.
The two stations alongside Citizen TV were shutdown on January 30, 2018 for broadcasting the controversial swearing in of former Prime Minister Raila Odinga as 'people's president'.
Taking to social media, Wavinya welcomed the stations back after seven days of closure.
She further noted that Kenyans had missed to be entertained, informed and educated during their shutdown.
The former Kathiani MP also expressed optimism that Citizen TV will be back on air soon adding that freedom of the press is democracy.
"Welcome back Kenyan Media(KTN,NTV). We dearly missed your informative, Entertaining and Educative segments. Still waiting for Citizen TV," Wavinya tweeted, Monday.
"Indeed people don't realise what they have until they lose it. Freedom of the press is not just important to democracy, it is DEMOCRACY," she added.
