Machakos gubernatorial aspirant Wavinya Ndeti has reduced presidential hopeful Kalonzo Musyoka to a Kamba political god.
Wavinya’s sentiments during the announcement of unanimous support for the Wiper party leader made a national figure look like a communal project meant to save Kambas from traditional misfortunes. Kalonzo is a national leader not a tribal train.
"If Nasa wants to win, give the seat to Kalonzo Musyoka. For the Kamba, he is our option number 1,2,3,4 until infinity," said Wavinya.
This is not the first time for Wavinya to give ultimatums. Last year, she also demanded that Wetangula and Odinga support Musyoka.
"CORD should make Kalonzo Musyoka the presidential candidate, if not we will not support the coalition. Kalonzo can be the president of Kenya, therefore Wetangula and RailaOdinga should know this time the Kamba people are not joking," said Ndeti last year.
The above statements proves how the lioness that is supposed to eat the incumbent Dr. Alfred Mutua alive is tribal. Everyone knows that the engine of Kenyan politics is tribalism and its fuel propaganda but we must change. As we complain about the government being a two community property, the opposition has to reflect national unity.
The reality that the Presidency is a national symbol should sink in Kamba land and its leaders like Wavinya should be at the forefront enlightening locals. This is the best time to prove that Kalonzo Musyoka is the bullet that will kill tribalism in our great nation.
As local politicians drum up support for Musyoka, they should remember the wounds tribalism has inflicted on Kenyans.
