Wavinya says that she has what it takes to defeat Mutua in the 2017 general elections.

Ndeti has exuded confidence of being elected as the next Machakos governor in 2017.

The former MP accused Governor Mutua of failing to deliver services to the locals.

“Time is up for Governor Mutua and he should brace for a tough contest,” she said.

Wavinya said that Machakos locals have been denied access to services.

She vowed to transform the county in terms of development.

In 2013 general elections, Wavinya lost to Dr Mutua in the gubernatorial race.

She only managed to garner 93,932 votes against Dr Mutua’s 262,264.

The former lawmaker has since picked Boniface Kabaka as a running mate ending speculations that she was to team up with Deputy Governor Bernard Kiala to unseat Dr Mutua.

Mr Kabaka is a former legal advisor to Dr Mutua. He ran for the Machakos Senate seat losing to incumbent Johnson Muthama.

Meanwhile, Ndeti has warned politicians against dividing and inciting locals ahead of the 2017 polls.

Ndeti warns that such a move will lead to animosity among locals and their leaders.

The former MP claimed that some politicians are already spewing inflammatory statements in their rallies.

“As politicians we must stop dividing the people and instead take the leading role in preaching unity,” she said.

Ndeti asked the National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) not to spare any politician spewing hatred.

The Machakos gubernatorial aspirant also asked Kenyans to shun politicians who spew hate speech and incitement.

She said that 2017 general elections will be peaceful if politicians are prevented from making inflammatory statements.
