Mombasa Senator Omar Hassan has said Coalition for Reforms and Democracy (Cord) presidential candidate is well known and anything else is a non issue.
Speaking during Wiper Party’s National Executive Council meeting held on Tuesday, the Senator affirmed the coalition has already identified the candidate who will lock horns with President Uhuru Kenyatta in the next general polls.
“Cord already has a presidential candidate who is well known and anything else is a non-issue,” said the senator, as quoted by Citizen digital.
Omar’s sentiments come amidst Wiper Party Leader Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka alleging that Machakos Senator Johnson Muthama and his Siaya counterpart James Orengo are plotting to kick him out of the presidential race.
“I am fully aware of what you have been doing behind my back with Orengo to pre-determine the outcome of Cord presidential primaries and deny me the ticket,” said Kalonzo recently.
He added: “You (Muthama) must convince Wiper supporters that the ticket you are pushing for (Raila) can deliver victory for Cord.”
Muthama was conspicously missing during the press briefing arguing that the Wiper meeting was not as important as Cord presser thus he decided to skip.
“The Wiper meeting was a small house keeping session that was not as important as the Cord press briefing on matters of Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC),” said Muthama.
