Hawkers within Kisii town claim that they are having a hard time in business since the county government enforcement and revenue collection officers are harassing them.
Janet Matara, one of the hawkers in the Kisii main bus terminus says that since the revenue collection officers from the county government are assigned to specific stations within Kisii town, some of them skip their stations to go and work in other areas within Kisii town where they ask them to pay more than what it is required by the revenue office.
They are accusing the county government of being slow at punishing such corrupt officials despite the fact that they have always been filing complaints on the same.
Now they are urging the county government to take action against these selfish revenue officials who are spoiling the county government’s dignity.
