Members of the Ngirita family, who are charged with looting the National Youth Service, have protested to the court government's decision to freeze their accounts.
Ann Wambere Ngirita, Lucy Ngirita, Phylis Ngirita and Jeremiah Ngirita told the court that they cannot even afford to pay the Sh8 million each to secure their release.
The four family members spoke to the court on Wednesday through their lawyer Cliff Ombeta.
On Tuesday, high court justice Hedwig Ongw’undi released all the NYS scam suspects on condition that each pays a bond of Sh5million, cash bail of Sh1million and Sh2million surety.
Ombeta said the Ngirita's are unable to raise the money.
“How are they going to finance their case and they have no access to their accounts? The State is also snooping in our accounts. This is not fair and you need to give us directions to this too,” Ombeta told the court.
The Ngiritas have become of interest to their neighbours in Naivasha since it emerged they are linked to the Sh9 bollion NYS scandal.
