Kiambu Roads and Transport CeC Njeri Gatabaki has assured residents of the county’s commitment to repair and renovate all roads for economic development.

Speaking when she inspected several roads that are under construction in Ruiru on Thursday, the CeC said the government has set aside enough funds to push for road repairs and renovations across the county.

She added that the county has partnered with various foreign investors and contractors who will help in constructing modern roads which he said will last long and boost development.

The Roads CeC who had earlier hosted officials from the Zyndex Company assured residents that all major roads that have been earmarked for renovation and repair will be done before the end of the year.

“As a county government we have put in place mechanisms to ensure that all road repairs and infrastructures are completed on time to enable people enjoy services,” she said.

The CeC further said that the construction of the Sh220 Million Gatitu-Karatina Road that had been halted will commence soon.

She said that the contractor will start the construction of the road that she said will ease transport in Thika.

Gatabaki observed that major renovations had been stopped last during the El~Nino rains adding that construction will resume. She said that good roads will open up the county to development and investment opportunities.

The CeC who was accompanied by the County Chief Engineer Lucas Wahinya said that the county is working with national government to install street lights and flood lights in all major towns across the county.
