Nakuru County Governor Kinuthia Mbugua has pledged to handsomely reward candidates who will score highly in the recently concluded Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) and Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) examinations respectively.

Speaking when he toured Molo Academy on Sunday, Mbugua said that candidates who will score straight A’s will get tokens, scholarships and other goodies from the county government.

The county boss said that education remains they key to a successful life and that students should be encouraged to work extra-hard.

Mbugua said that his government is fully committed to improve education standards of the county.

“We have in place adequate strategies meant to ensure education standards are improved, and as a government we will do all we can and put in more resources for education development,” said Mbugua.

Mbugua, who commissioned a 1000litre water tank at the school said that through education, most challenges facing the society would be addressed.

The Governor lauded the school, which performed well in last year’s KCPE, ranking 6th nationwide with a mini-score of 77.7.                                                                                                                              

Mbugua at the same time asked the government to initiate more programmes that will better education standards across the country.

The governor also called on needy students in Molo to apply for bursary funds and further their education. He said the county has enough bursary funds to cater for all needy students.
