Uasin Gishu County government is determined to improve county Health facilities and services offered to residents which will enhance service delivery.
Speaking to this writer in his office on Wednesday, Deputy Governor Daniel Chemno said that they have started upgrading and renovating the existing health facilities.
"In this financial year we have allocated enough money for the upgrade and renovation of health centres' infrastructures in the county," he said.
He said this will improve the working environment and enhance the provision of high-quality health services.
Six health centres will be upgraded to fully functional sub-county hospitals.
"We are also constructing a theatre unit at the Turbo Sub-County hospital. There is the construction of model sub-county hospital maternity and family planning blocks in Kesses, Ziwa and Moiben sub-county hospitals" he added.
He said in a move to improve service delivery to patients, the Uasin Gishu government employed 377 health nurses
"The eye clinic at Huruma which cost Sh8.3 million is complete and will soon be opened for public use," he revealed.
He added that since the Health sector was devolved there have been tremendous changes all aimed at improving service delivery.
