Former Lugari MP Cyrus Jirongo says that they are still friends with Deputy President William Ruto.

Jirongo, however, said that their political ideologies and leadership views is what they differ on.

"We are friends with the Deputy president but my political and leadership view differs from his," he said.

The duo have in recent times engaged in public war of words with Jirongo accusing the DP of being involved in whistle blower Jacob Juma's death.

The deputy president on his side accused Jirongo of being 'jealous' of the political strides he has made.

Jirongo was Deputy president's boss during the Youth for KANU time in 1992.
