A section of leaders from Garissa County have declared that they would support Deputy President William Ruto’s presidential bid in the 2022 General Election.
Led by National Assembly Leader of Majority Aden Duale, the leaders said they would work to ensure DP Ruto clinches the country’s top seat.
Duale said residents in North Eastern will elect Mr Ruto in 2022 because of what the Jubilee administration has done for the region and the country.
“Voters will elect leaders depending on what they have done. In the next five years, we will ensure President Uhuru Kenyatta leaves behind a legacy,” said Mr Duale as quoted by Daily Nation.
The Garissa Township MP was speaking on Sunday in Kasha during the homecoming ceremony of Garissa County committee member in charge of Agriculture and Livestock Issa Yarow.
The event was attended by Garissa Governor Ali Korane, MPs Mohamed Hire (Lagdera), Mohamed Dahiye (Dadaab), Fatuma Gedi (Wajir Woman Rep), Abdi Omar Shurie (Balambala) and Ahmed Qolosho (Wajir West).
Mr Qolosho said they will support Mr Ruto as he has shown the ability to deliver to the people adding that Baringo Senator Gideon Moi has nothing to show in terms of development and only hides behind his father’s name.
