Opposition leaders have maintained that they will oppose any move by Jubilee administration to pull out of International Criminal Court (ICC.
President Uhuru Kenyatta on Monday insisted that the country can do without the international court, accusing it of wrongly targeting Africans.
On Tuesday, the opposition team led by Raila Odinga accused the President of undermining the court despite having accepted its earlier decision of acquitting him of alleged crimes against humanity.
“The president should stop being hypocritical because he once attended ICC and was happy when it vindicated him. We are in ICC to stay and nothing will prevent us from opposition any withdrawal attempts,” he said.
‘The president wants to run away from responsibility and as Kenyans, we must have ICC in place so that we deal with those who are planning to steal elections,” added Kiminini MP Chris Wamalwa.
The opposition leaders were speaking during Wiper Democratic Movement party convention at Kasarani Gymnasium on Tuesday where they endorsed Kalonzo Musyoka to be presidential flag bearer.
