Kisii county governor James Ongwae has said calls to disband the current IEBC commissioners is not a personal matter of the opposition (Cord) but a plea from various institutions which also feel that the commissioners should pack and leave.
According to Ongwae who spoke in Kisii town, IEBC commissioners should respect the call of Kenyans, Christians, Politicians and others likeminded individuals and step aside.
“It has been alleged by many of institutions that the current IEBC commissioners in office can’t conduct a fair election, let them go home by respecting the call of Kenyans,” said Ongwae.
“The call for IEBC commissioners to get out of the office is not a matter of opposition but has been proposed by many Kenyans from both sides of the government and opposition," said Ongwae.
"Let the current commissioners give room for the new commissioners that can be trusted to conduct the next general election,” added Ongwae.
