Kadu-Asili party has denied media reports that it has joined hands with Jubilee Party ahead of October 17 repeat presidential election.

Through its national chairman Kombora Korokoro, the Coast-based party denied campaigning for the re-election of President Uhuru Kenyatta, saying it has not been approached on the issue.

"The leadership of Kadu-Asili has not been consulted or approached by any side, Jubilee or NASA to support their presidential bid. Therefore, the party's stand remains neutral," Korokoro said during a press conference in Kilifi.

He said the national office was perturbed by the reports attributed to one former Kilifi North Gideon Mung'aro who over the weekend announced the party was campaigning for President Kenyatta.

"Kadu-Asili has joined forces with Labour Party of Kenya (LPK), Chama Cha Mashinani (CCM), Maendeleo Chap Chap (MCC) and Shirikisho Party. These parties are Jubilee-friendly," Mung'aro is reported to have announced during a strategy meeting at Silver Palm Hotel.
