Opposition chief Raila Odinga has expressed happiness that they have finally arrived to the promised land.
Raila was on Tuesday, January 30, sworn in as the people's president at Uhuru park.
The oath was administered by ODM MP TJ Kajwang.
After leaving Uhuru park, Raila thanked his supported on twitter and said they were now in Canaan.
"Most of all I thank the good Lord, my family and all those who have undertaken this journey with us. We have arrived in Canaan; thank you for staying the course with us. Asanteni sana," he said.
He also thanked Kenyans for the 'mandate' they gave him.
"I wish to thank the people of Kenya for the mandate they have given us and for their steadfast confidence in us. You came from all corners of the republic to witness my inauguration and it was good to see you out in millions,” Raila added.
The ceremony degenerated into anti-climax after NASA co-principals gave it a wide berth.
Raila was therefore sworn in without a deputy.
After taking the oath, the ODM leader rushed to his Karen home where photos emerged later showing him with confidantes in celebratory mood.
