Hotel keepers at the Coast are ready for the December festive season.

Kenya Association of Hotelkeepers and Caterers (KAHC) Coast branch executive officer Sam Ikwaye expressed optimism for more bookings in tourist hotels.

"The average bed occupancy rates in many hotels stood at 70 percent with a projection for December looking better," said Ikwaye.

Kenya Safari Lodges and Hotels (KSLH) CEO Victor Shitakah told The Standard on Thursday that bookings at Mombasa Beach Hotel, Voi and Ngulia Lodges had improved.

"We are doing up to 65 percent in all the three units, up from the low business previously," Shitakah noted.

Alexander Zissimatos, the general manager of Twin Sandies Tropical Village and Diamonds Dream of Africa said hoteliers in Malindi have joined hands to boost tourism arrivals.

"We have prepared well for the festive season to give visitors a memorable experience," he said.
