Deputy President William Ruto has broken his silence on the suggestion of dialogue to help solve the political standoff in the country.
He said that the Jubilee government was ready to engage in dialogue but was quick to add that any dialogue must be structured around development issues.
Political discussions, he warned, would not be entertained as the Kenyan people had already made their decision in the October 26 rerun.
''Suggestions have been made that we should talk. We are ready to talk but the talks have to be about how do we create jobs for young people? How do we make our country food-sufficient? Those are the talks that we are going to entertain,'' the DP said.
He was speaking today in Kitale during the burial of the wife of former Kenyan Vice-President Kijana Wamalwa.
Other leaders including Moses Wetangula spoke.
