Deputy President William Ruto has expressed optimism that he, alongside President Uhuru Kenyatta will be reelected during the August polls.
Speaking in Narok on Tuesday, Ruto claimed that the ruling party has an edge over the Opposition coalition NASA, adding that Jubilee is ready for the polls.
He further accused NASA of deliberately plotting to have the August 8 polls delayed by engaging IEBC in unnecessary legal battles.
“We, Jubilee, want to tell NASA that Kenyans are ready to cast their votes on August 8, 2017 and no other date. They are presenting cases after cases before courts to sabotage elections," he said.
He challenged the Maa Community to back President Uhuru Kenyatta's reelection bid, observing that the community's interests are best represented in Jubilee.
His sentiments were reiterated by President Kenyatta, who said: “We have an agenda for you the Maa Community as opposed to our competitors. Vote for me to continue with the work of building roads, and connecting people to electricity. We are also planning to introduce a free NHIF cover for pregnant mothers and new born babies,”
