Mbita MP Millie Odhiambo insists that Coalition for Reforms and Democracy (CORD) was ready to fight to ensure elections laws are not changed.
On Tuesday, opposition MPs blocked Speaker Justin Muturi from accessing parliament, forcing a crisis meeting with both leadership of the house.
Odhimabo accused Jubilee administration of summoning special seating in the house to amend election laws without due consultations.
“We are ready to die for this country to ensure that our rights are safeguarded. We cannot allow few individuals to take us but to Egypt,” she told KNT News.
“Our side was not consulted prior to this meeting. We cannot allow Jubilee to take us for granted and this should be a warning to its leadership,” she added.
However, her Kikuyu counterpart accused CORD of fearing an election defeat adding that Standing Orders allowed any members to write to the speaker to request for a special seating.
“The Standing Orders are very clear that any members can write to the speaker to request for a special sitting. Our colleagues are not genuine,” he said.
