Deputy president William Ruto has said that the Jubilee government is responsible and prudent when it comes to spending of resources borrowed from development partners.
Speaking in Nyeri on Friday, the deputy president assured Kenyans that any borrowing will be put into good use and urged them to stop listening to propaganda.
“Those telling us long stories about debts should tell us how Anglo Leasing and Goldenberg issues came about. We are responsible and prudent Government that Kenyans see what we have done from the railway, roads and the electrification programme we are carrying out across the country.
"We always borrow funds that we have the capacity to pay and for the interest of the country. Our development record as Jubilee speaks for itself. The Difference between us and those in Opposition is like day and night when it comes to issues of development,” Rutostated.
Kieni MP Kanini Kega who had accompanied the deputy president said that parliament was ready to pass any bills that should enabled the government borrow external loans.
"We are ready to pass any bills in Parliament that can give the Government the authority to continue borrowing funds from development partners to fund projects in the country,” said Mr Kega.
