Cord principals Kalonzo Musyoka and Moses Wetangula have dismissed claims that the opposition coalition will disintegrate before the 2017 elections.
The duo said the coalition was intact and ready to take over leadership from Jubilee’s administration after winning the forthcoming polls.
They spoke during burial of the Mavoko MP Patrick Makau’s father, John King’ola at Ngelani village in Machakos sub-county on Friday.
Kalonzo and Wetangula said both were in perfect relationships with ODM party leader Raila Odinga and all were committed to ensuring that the opposition coalition wins the elections.
They condemned politicians from Jubilee who claim that they (the three principals) will fall out for failing to disagree on who amongst them becomes the coalition’s flag bearer as the presidency candidate in 2017 terming it a propaganda.
They said Cord is intact asserting they will amicably resolve the issue of who among them gets to the ballot as the opposition’s presidential candidate soon.
“As Cord coalition, we have given senators James Orengo (Siaya), Johnston Muthama (Machakos) and Tingeren MP the mandate to look into the issue so as to reorganize the opposition,” said Kalonzo.
“We have a unity of purpose in Cord’s leadership, my brothers Raila, Wetangula and I will ensure that the bond is maintained for us to win the 2017 elections,” said Kalonzo.
Wetangula said he was confident that with Raila and Kalonzo they will win the elections.
“Jubilee has done lots of injustices to Kenyans, corruption and tribalism have risen since they took the country’s leadership. Uhuru and Ruto will go home in 2017 by 10.00 am on the election day,” said Wetangula.
He urged members of the Kamba community to support one of their own, Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka.
Kalonzo called on love and unity among Wiper party supporters and leaders across the Ukambani region.
He assured them of free and fair party nominations during Wiper primaries.
“Muthama should not be blamed during party nominations this time round, mtu akishindwa na mwenzake asilaumu Muthama. It will be free and fair,” said Kalonzo.
The principals were accompanied by senators James Orengo (Siaya), Johnston Muthama (Machakos), Mike Sonko (Nairobi), deputy governors Bernard Kiala (Machakos), Jonathan Mweke (Nairobi), MPs Oburu Oginga (nominated), Hezron Awiti (Nyali), Junet Mohammed (Suna), among other hosts of legislatures and MCA’s.
