Wiper Party has rubbished the government;s claims that the opposition is politicising the war on graft.
According to Wiper Party, the Jubilee government has failed to tame corruption which it says is rampant.
Speaking to journalists after a National Executive Council meeting in Nairobi on Wednesday, Wiper secretary general Hassan Omar said the opposition has not politicised graft as claimed by President Uhuru Kenyatta.
Omar said the opposition is concerned with rampant graft and wants the government to tame perpetrators.
“It is ridiculous for President Uhuru Kenyatta to claim that the opposition is playing politics with corruption when it is evident and clear that public funds are being looted,” he said.
Omar said the opposition will not keep quiet and watch as corruption threatens to ravage the country.
“As opposition leaders, we have the responsibility to question and speak out on issues facing the country and more so corruption,” he added.
The Mombasa Senator accused the Uhuru Kenyatta government of perpetuating corruption.
He alleged that the government is watching as public funds being looted, further warning that the country will plunge into poverty dens if graft is not curtailed.
President Kenyatta on Wednesday hit out at opposition accusing it of using the issue of graft to gain political mileage.
He said opposition leaders are using propaganda to tarnish his administration.
The government has been on the spot over rampant graft, with the most recent one being the alleged loss of Sh5.2 billion at Afya House.
