Uasin Gishu County Commissioner Hassan Abdi has assured heightened security in Eldoret town and other parts of the county throughout this festive season.
Abdi has said that there will be regular patrols by police officers and those who will be caught engaging in illegal activities will be dealt with accordingly.
"I am warning those with a habit of harvesting where they did not sow to know that we are on the look – out,” said Hassan.
"Continue doing your budget on how you will spend what you will rob but be very sure you will face the consequences. Am also asking the public to be vigilant too,” added the Commissioner.
At the same time, Hassan warned the police officers who are used to soliciting bribes from the public telling them their time is over.
"If we get any report of any of the officers collecting bribes, then we will make sure that we uproot them together with their roots. We will not allow anybody to tarnish our name", said the strict-speaking Commissioner.
