"His options are wide open. First we want to strengthen ODM party. Then we can negotiate with anyone, including President Uhuru Kenyatta," Mbadi said.

The Suba MP added that Raila is leaving nothing to chance as he prepares to have a fourth stab at the presidency and is currently working at revamping his ODM party.

Another of Raila's close aide who spoke on condition of anonymity promised a dramatic change in the political landscape as he is scheming to be in government.

"The political landscape will change dramatically as we head to 2017. What you see today may not be the case because I can tell you for sure Raila and his close allies are scheming to be in government," he said.

Raila has been warming up for ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi in a bid to forge a formidable force in readiness for next years polls.
