Students from Nyamache secondary school in Kisii County which caught fire on Monday night have declined allegations about the setting their dorms ablaze.

They claim that the school's dormitories among other buildings that were burnt down were as a result of a power failure.

The school was burned down the same evening after  education Cabinet secretary Fred Matiang'i visited the institution from the Itierio Boys High School where students rioted and set ablaze seven dorms.

The controversial torching of institutions in Kisii county among other areas in the country has attracted the attentions of many stakeholders in the education sector who are now demanding to know the reason behind the burning of learning of institutions by students.

Nyamache Secondary school has therefore got in the list of schools affected by the fire outbreak recently, as students stand firm to oppose the allegations against the incident.
