Kisii Governor James Ongwae has declared that no political alignment will distract his ambition to spur development in the county.
This comes barely a week after a group advocating for Omogusii Unity endorsed area Senator Chris Obure for the gubernatorial seat in 2017 with another faction standing in his support.
But speaking in Dallas,USA, Ongwae said that those advocating for Kisii unity have nothing to offer and that they are trying to justify the impossible.
"Omogusii is a proud and an enlightened person who can make informed choices when it comes to politics. As a community, we should not get into a situation where we are rushed into certain decisions because it's not possible to lump independent-minded people into one pot," Ongwae was quoted by the Star.
Ongwae said that he will not change his political stand even as he dismissed his opponents saying that they should not mislead the residents that the county can only develop by goodies from the Central Government.
Kisii region has of late become a Cord-Jubilee battleground which many view as a swing vote and with the Deputy President William Ruto being a frequent visitor to the region bankrolling for his party's political manoeuvres.
