Kiambu residents made a big mistake by electing Governor William Kabogo, Thika legislator Alice Ng’ang’a has said.
Addressing the media at Thika town on Monday, the MP said that Governor Kabogo does not deserve to lead the county.
Ng’ang’a accused Kabogo of failing to unite the county and conducting activities without consulting other leaders.
“It is evident that Governor Kabogo has no interest in the challenges facing Kiambu people,” she said.
The MP who continues to differ with the governor said that the county would rather be without the county boss.
The Thika legislator maintained that Kabogo is using force to implement projects.
She said that they will not allow the governor to intimidate them adding that the public has the power to recall him (governor Kabogo).
Ng’ang’a said she will continue to speak for the voiceless and will not be afraid of Kabogo.
She appealed to Thika residents to support her quest for fairness in allocation of public resources.
“I will not be scared by the threats from some people rather will continue to speak for the voiceless,” she said.
Nga’ng’a asked other leaders in the county to fight for the rights of the people who elected them.
At the same time, the MP urged the church to help promote education standards in the county.
Speaking at Ngoingwa Ward, Ng’ang’a said the church has a role to play in the education sector. The lawmaker said that for education standards to go up, all stakeholders including the church must be involved.
She added that the church has resources and manpower that can help boost education standards.
