Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka now has his political career standing on shaky grounds as more leaders from Machakos and the entire Ukambani region pledge support for Governor Alfred Mutua’s Presidential bid in 2022.
The National Chamber of Commerce and Industry chairman, Machakos County chapter Simon Kitheka has expressed his disappointment in Kalonzo saying he no longer have confidence in him.
Kitheka took to his Facebook page to announce that he was also taking a sabbatical leave.
Kitheka has been a staunch follower of the Wiper Party as well as Kalonzo’s supporter.
The vocal businessman was also involved in campaigning for Wavinya Ndeti in the 2017 Machakos gubernatorial race.
Kitheka is not the only person who has portrayed his disappointment in Kalonzo after failing to take the oath as the people’s deputy president on 30th January.
County assembly majority leader Francis Ngunga has also said that it’s time to put their differences aside and work together with Governor Alfred Mutua.
Ngunga who has been at loggerheads with the governor now agrees that they cannot do anything since the people of Machakos have decided to support Mutua.
The Mua Hills MCA has been a loyal member of the Wiper Party and has been the leader of those opposing Mutua’s governance.
Only time will tell if Kalonzo Musyoka's lost trust will be regained.
