A section of Bonchari residents has said they have missed former MP John Opore who lost during the August 8 polls.
Elizabeth Juma, a resident in Bomariba ward said constituents desired for change in the constituency leadership but the current MP John Oyioka has abandoned them after he won on August 8.
“Oyioka has abandoned us. He is no longer available in the constituency as he used to be when he was seeking the seat. It is better we have Opore back because he was always with us in villages especially during long December holiday,” she said.
Evans Makori, a resident in Riana ward where former MP hails from, expressed confidence that a petition challenging Oyioka’s win will sail through for constituents to go for a by-election to re-elect Opore.
“The current MP has proved to be worse than Opore. It is our hope a petition filed by Opore will succeed and Oyioka’s August 8 victory nullified for a by-election to be held. Constituents’ are tired with Oyioka who has preferred close associates to be beneficiaries in his tenure,” he said.
Paul Nyakang’I accused the Oyioka of sideling other regions when he appointed CDF officials.
He said Oyioka will be kicked out if a by-election will be held once the court nullifies August 8 MP race results.
