A group of Kisii leaders who met President Uhuru Kenyatta has denied claims that they have joined Jubilee. Kisii county Senator Chris Obure stated that the meeting with the president and his deputy at state house Nairobi was a development discussion in the region. "We are in our respective parties by now, but if Kisii people ask us to move then we will have no choice to do so immediately," said Obure. However, Obure said that they decided to meet president Kenyatta and Ruto after ODM failed to offer development. "Cord leadership has taken too long to listen to us. That is why we have decided to work with the government to realise development especially in infrastructure," added Obure.ODM leaders who attended the meeting were Kisii county deputy governor James Maangi, Richard Onyonka,  Richard Tongi and former CIC chair Charles Nyachae among others.
