President Uhuru Kenyatta today said he has laid strong foundations for prosperity by investing equally in every county in Kenya, and it was time to vote him back to finish the job.
The President, who spoke at Kimilili, said the developments initiated in Bungoma County were prove that the Jubilee Government has the interest of all Kenyans at heart.
The Head of State spoke at his final Western Kenya rally before August 8 where he was assured of huge support by a lineup of strong leaders of Bungoma County who ditched the opposition to back his re-election.
Led by Governor Ken Lusaka, the leaders said the residents of the county will rally behind the Jubilee Party because of the unprecedented development initiatives including the revival of factories that collapsed in the past.
The factories revived by the Government include Panpaper, which has already created 1000 jobs and is expected to create more employment as it expands its operations.
The Government has also supported factories including Nzoia Sugar Factory which the Government recently allocated Sh300 million to pay debts it owed sugar cane farmers.
President Kenyatta, who was accompanied by Deputy President William Ruto, said the Government has served the people of Bungoma in the same spirit as it has served other Kenyans.
He however pointed out that the Jubilee Government has spent huge resources to correct problems that were created or neglected by governments that were run by those in the opposition.
The President said Panpaper collapsed long before Jubilee came into power while the problems at the sugar factories was created when those leading the opposition today were in government.
“The problems we have been solving were not created by us. They were created by those in the opposition and we spent four years correcting them. Today those in the opposition are promoting tribalism,” said the President.
The President said the Jubilee Government has laid down the foundation for progress by investing in the construction of roads, constructing the Standard Gauge Railway, improving healthcare, reforming the education sector and boosting security.
He said the Jubilee team has an Action Plan that will build on the laid down foundation to create 6.5 million jobs, lower prices and make Kenya more safe.
“Graduates from Kibabii University (which the Head of State granted a charter recently) and Technical Training Institutes will from next year get paid internships,” said the President as he explained how the government plans to make it easier for the youth to get employment.
The Deputy President urged voters in Western Kenya to vote for the Jubilee team so that it can continue with its work to bring more progress.
He said the progress achieved in Bungoma alone under the Jubilee government was unprecedented.
The DP cited the example of access to electricity where 64,000 homes are today connected with electricity up from only 20,000 in the whole county in 2013.
Governor Lusaka said Bungoma people will vote overwhelmingly for the President and the rest of the Jubilee team.
The Bungoma leaders who accompanied the President also included Women Rep Reginalda Wanyonyi, Sirisia MP John Walukhe, Senate Aspirant Juma Mukhwana, Kimilili MP aspirant Didmus Barasa.
The President had earlier addressed another rally at Bumula and is scheduled to address more rallies in Eldoret, Kabarnet and Nyahururu.
