Nyamira County minister for Trade, Tourism and Co-oporative development John Omanwa has revealed that his ministry has already trained over 2,400 business persons since inception of devolution.
Speaking on Thursday at Sironga Girls during the county's pre-annual conference in highlighting the achievements of his ministry since devolution, Omanwa said 2400 business persons have been trained on how to invest and carry different trades.
"We have so far trained 2,400 business men and women since I joined the ministry. This is part of our purpose to enhance consumer protection and enabling small scale trades," he said.
The ministry's top official also said they have so far constructed and established eight markets, built 11 public toilets and erected 104 kiosks across the county.
Omwanwa added saying that they have so far registered eight Saccos and urged people to join them inorder to better their businesses.
"it is through Saccos that you can easily access funds and loans and also improve living standards," Omwanwa added.
The Executive committee member also revealed that they have initiated a scheme of asset recovery orchestrated at paying for farmers whose lands were sold at Simbauti farm.
