Kwale Governor Salim Mvurya has warned his main rival Chirau Ali Mwakwere against tarnishing his name during his campaigns.
He asked Mwakwere to tell county residents what he did for them in the 10 years he represented them in Parliament.“Let Mwakwere tell you what he did for you when you gave him a chance to represent you for 10 years and then compare that with what I have done for the four in the years I have been in office,” said Mvurya, as quoted by The Star. The county boss spoke Tuesday at Baraza Park in Kwale town.“You are eying my seat to achieve your selfish desires. We know who you really are,” he said. The Governor promised to upgrade hospitals in the county to ensure residents get access to quality health care.He opened a Sh39.4 million drug store and administration block at the Kwale Level 4 Hospital in Matuga constituency.Mvurya said his administration plans to improve facilities at the hospital so that residents can have easy access to health services.“What we have done today attests to my pragmatic leadership and I commit to do more in the health sector if re-elected so that our people don't have to travel to Coast Provincial General Hospital in Mombasa,” he said.
