Machakos senator Johnstone Muthama has called for the radical coalescing of National Super Alliance (NASA) affiliate parties into one giant outfit ahead of the general polls in August.
The NASA National Coordinating Committee (NCC) member said that his coalition should take Jubilee’s example and break the original parties.
“I called for the making of CORD into a single party a year back. I hereby repeat that NASA should be united into one party,” he said as quoted by Standard.
The senator said that NASA stands a better chance to unite Kenyans whom he said have been enthinicised by earlier regimes that include the ruling Jubilee government.
This comes at a time the affiliate parties in the alliance are burdened with the matter of whether or not to hold joint nominations and the tough question of selecting a flag-bearer to face President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto.
He insisted that Kenya's future relies on its unity, adding that he is sad the country keeps plunging into ethnic divisions.
