Speaking on Wednesday, they were unanimous that the county government releases funds for the project due to suffering they endure during rainy seasons when crossing over.

They said the route was unique due to its nearness to the nearby Kebirigo town which has been used as the preferred market from the region for a long time.

“It is disgusting that these fundamental projects are not prioritised by the county government. The place is almost impassable on rainy seasons due to flooding and this makes it difficult to reach the other village on our way to Kebirigo,” said Monica Juma.

Jonathan Kibagendi accused area MCA Beuttah Omanga of selective development activities and general negligence despite being in possession of county development funds.

“It is the obligation of the MCA to act on such projects. I am aware that he (Omanga) has been approached on several occasions and significantly refused to act perhaps because he thinks this particular region abandoned him during elections,” he said.

Speaking on phone, Mr Omanga denied the allegations and revealed that the place was among those the county plans to work on after launching of road construction activity on Wednesday by area Governor John Nyagarama in Nyamira town.
