Kisii county Government under the leadership of Governor James Ongwae has been asked to be accountable for how they have been using resources which were allocated for development.
According to Mr Thomson Osoro who is an activist, the County leadership needs to account for the expenditure of monies allocated to them by the national government.
“We expect and demand accountability from the county government on national government budget funds so far allocated and spent by the devolved unit,” he said.
In addition, he challenged Senator Chris Obure to make sure that he follows up on how the money was used.
“My appeal to Senator Obure is let him follow up on how the money was spent in the financial year and which development projects was funded by the money,” he said.
Mr Osoro added that residents are crying that there are many projects which have taken too long to be completed as we are approaching the next polls.
“The worry of residents is projects which were initiated by the county Government have never been completed and we are approaching next election, when are they going to be completed,” noted Osoro.
