Gatundu North Uwezo Fund Co-ordinator Mary Wahugo has said there is need to follow up on the youth and women groups that take Uwezo loans to ensure they are fairing well in their activities.
Speaking in Mitero, Gatundu North on Friday during a follow-up tour, Wahugo said that the funded groups need continued advise and guidance on how they can reap maximum benefits from the fund and be able to repay back.
“We have been having a series of meetings in various parts of Gatundu North to educate and to ensure that the money is being put to the right use,” said Wahugu.
“It has been three months since we launched Uwezo Fund in Gatundu North and we want to be sure that all is okay before we proceed to issuing cheques to the next groups,” she said.
Gatundu North MP Kigo Njenga, who was in the same tour urged the youths and women to continue forming groups that will enable them secure Uwezo Fund loans.
“Let us embrace this opportunity and kick poverty out of Gatundu North. Form those groups and when you get the money do not misuse it, use it well,” advised Kigo.
