Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i is working hard to ensure that there is no cheating in examination. The ministry was handed over to him after cases of exam cheating proved to unavoidable.
Many have congratulated him so far because of his strictness. Some said that Matiang’i is anything but considerate.
I interviewed two teachers and one student.
One teacher who sought anonymity said that the CS is more than strict. “Invigilators are being arrested because of only a common mistake like starting exam late by five minutes!” said one teacher from Machakos county.
“I will not invigilate in the next year,” he added. “I can’t jeopardize my job.”
Another teacher from Kitui county supported that claim.
The student said that Kaimenyi was better than Matiang’i since he defended the students.
“He used to say ‘My students do not cheat,’” said a student who is a candidate.
All in all the current education CS is no nonsense guy.
