NASA will withdraw Kenyan troops from Somalia immediately it takes power after the August elections.
This is according to Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka.
Musyoka faulted the long presence of KDF troops in Somalia, arguing that it was unwise and was creating more problems for the country.
“What’s our benefit as a country? Many of our soldiers are losing their lives and many are missing. Their families are in anguish and all that for what?” he asked.
Speaking in Lamu on Friday, the NASA co-principal said the decision by former president Mwai Kibaki to send the troops in 2012 was meant to be a temporary measure with the chief objective of restoring peace.
He accused the Jubilee government of keeping the troops in Somalia yet Kenya itself lives in dire need of their services.
The former VP said that insecurity and corruption in the Jubilee administration is evidence that President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto are incapable of running the country successfully.
He added that the NASA administration will instead bring down the cost of living that has soared considerably.
