Kenyans love last-minute rush. Be it in paying bills like rent, power, loans, registration for courses in college, voter registration or even promotional sales and offers.
When the deadline nears, workers will be rushing to submit their reports, parents will be rushing to pay school fees and students will be rushing to submit their assignments.
Politicians from Machakos are not left out. As the 2017 general elections are nearing, those who have been sleeping on their jobs have suddenly realized that they will be judged by their development records.
Many are now going back to their constituencies to start last minute projects to blind the electorate that they are working.
Let us not be blinded by last-minute projects, these leaders are just seeking re-elections.
If our politicians meant well for us, they should not have waited till now to bring development and projects that were long overdue.
If they could not do it in 4 years, surely they cannot do it in a year. Let them reap what they sow.
