A section of leaders from Kisii County has pleaded with President Uhuru Kenyatta to ensure jobs for the community.
Led by Steve Arika, the chairman of the secretariat in charge of Jubilee Party campaigns, they asked the President to appoint more leaders from the region to his new Cabinet.
"We are grateful that we have a Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i and Principal Secretary Susan Mochache but we deserve more State jobs for the support we gave him," Arika told Daily Nation on Tuesday.
He further congratulated Uhuru after his inauguration to serve his second and final term, saying the President can now confidently exercise his role.
"The next agenda for Uhuru is to unite Kenyans, his supporters and those from the Opposition so that the country can move forward," he stated.
Arika was speaking to the local daily at Nyabururu Teachers Training College, where hundreds of Jubilee supporters assembled to watch the swearing-in ceremony on giant screens.
