Wiper Party Leader Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka has said that President Uhuru Kenyatta fell to the tricks of the opposition to skip the presidential debate, Nairobi News has reported.
Kalonzo, who spoke during NASA rally in Nthongoni Shopping Center in Makueni County, Kalonzo said that his decision to snub the deputy presidential debate made Uhuru think that NASA Presidential candidate Raila Amolo Odinga will also not attend.
The failure of President Uhuru to attend the debate has continued to attract mixed reactions from different factions.
Speaking during the debate, Raila responded to different claims including the alliance’s decision to set up parallel tallying center in Tanzania.
"Some things exist in people's minds. Why should we have a tallying centre in Tanzania? Why should someone worry about where the tallying centre will be?" Raila asked.
He added: "We have made it clear that we will tally. Why should some people get worried about where the tallying will be. It can be in Germany or the moon. But it will be in Kenya and the clouds.”
The President had earlier on said that he will not attend the debate although it remained unclear whether he would have changed his mind along the way.
